These examples of Standard grade Coticules for your consideration measures 200mm long x 75mm wide (8 x 3"). Standard grade coticules are perfectly suited for razor honing but will have more visual figuring in the stones and hints of Belgian Blue coloring in the cross-section.
This Belgian Coticule is from the atelier of Ardennes Coticule, the only remaining producers of these sharpening stones. Coticules are wonderful razor hones and also well known for honing tools and knives. They are a fast cutting yet fine and versatile stone that can be used for bevel setting through finishing or followed by a finer stone.
