Offered here is a small piece of classic, old mined Thuringian water razor hone from the Sonneberg/ Steinach area in the Thuringian mountains of Germany. Most famous labelled under the Escher brand, these stones have been treasured by barbers for more than 200 years for putting a fine and smooth edge on straight razors.
This is a small piece of stone, collected as an end cut, leftover from the original mined stones and extremely useful for the purpose of creating a cutting slurry by rubbing on a Thurigian hone.
