Atogoyama Kiita Nashji Japanese Natural Whetstone

This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan and thoroughly tested.

It measures 150 mm (5.91 in) long × 75 mm (2.95 in) wide × 28 mm (1.10 in) tall, and weighs 630 g (22.22 oz / 1.39 lb).

Atagoyama is a Western mine located within Mount Atago, which is the boundary line which distinguishes Eastern/Western mines. Atagoyama produced a wide variety of stone types and characteristics. This Tomae features a vibrant yellow Kiita base with orange Nashiji. Beautiful, rustic Kiita koppa with amazing value and performance. A vintage Atagoyama Kiita koppa with nice hardness. A grit rich, fast cutting Kiita which releases a bit of self slurry when sharpening heavier blades but just firm enough for no self slurry for razors. Best used a standalone finisher for razors and capable of high refinement levels with slurry work and time. Also amazing for polishing and creates a beautiful, slightly hazy yet refined Kasumi finish with ease.
